The Coolest 5th Gen iPod Nano Case – The Kickster

iPod Nano 5th Gen Case - The KicksterWell I think I just found the coolest 5th generation iPod nano case, The Kickster from Quirky. This brilliant design is a case, stand and cord tidier in one.

The Kickster design was crowed-sourced from the Quirky community over a 24 hour period. As soon as Apple announced the fifth generation iPod Nano the people at Quirky went to work on a case to keep all iPod fans happy. An interestign thing about Quirky, if you didn;t know, is that all the cool things on their ebsite are designed by the Quirky community – anyone can register free and get involved. If you want to influence a design – suggest modifications or improvements, brainstorm product names, etc, then you can earn yourself a percentage of the profits of that product. Pretty neat system.

Artistic iPod Nano Skins – Gelaskins

I was chatting to some good friends of mine recently who run the number one site on iPad Accessories, and we got to talking about what accessories and cases were available for iPads that might also be available for the iPod Nano. I asked if they had any recommendations. Well they had some very cool suggestions, and my pick for today’s review is an iPod Skin manufacturer called Gelaskins.

Soft Gloss – 5G iPod Nano Case

Sleek, slim and flexible, the Soft Gloss ipod nano case is one of those protective cases that does not hide the sleek elegance of Apple’s design behind a bulky shape, or cheap materials.

The Soft Gloss case is really stylish, and it’s designed to keep that ‘new’ look for a long time, because it’s made of silicone with a jelly touch finish which repels dust and lint. The silicone feels very much like plastic and it has some flexibility, just enough to be easy to fit on your iPod nano 5G.
The design on the back of the case features the Apple logo surrounded by dots of various sizes, disposed in circles around the well-known apple. The case provides open access to all ports on the iPod, both on top and on bottom. However, if you want to put the iPod into a dock, you’ll have to remove the case, because it doesn’t fit. Yet, it’s not such a big drawback, taking into consideration the other qualities of the case and the very reasonable price. Removing the case and putting it on takes only a few seconds, so it’s still fine, even if you want to use your iPod with your iHome docking station.

A Quick Look At Some Accessories for iPad

The geek and non geek world is abuzz with Apple’s latest announcement if the iPad tablet. This seems touch sensitive tablet to be one of those game changing devices that will define the direction new technology will take in the future. iPad accessories are already being released left and right to fill the needs of all who decide to invest right away. Silicone Wrapz 5G Nano Case

The iFrogz Silicone Warpz is one of those iPod covers that one can fall in love with at first sight. It is made of excellent quality silicone with anti-dust treatment. That’s a good choice, because the case features an embossed pattern which could easily collect dust and make the case look junky if it didn’t have this dust-repellent quality.

 

The motif imprinted in the silicone cover outlines the screen and the buttons area, which is nice, because it this way it offers those sensitive areas a bit of protection to hits or scratches. The screen is very well recessed inside the case, therefore there’s no need for buying a protection shield for it, if you get this cover.

Like other iPod Nano cases, Silicone Wrapz features a completely open bottom, which ensures easy access to all plugs, so it won’t be necessary to take the case off each time you want to charge the iPod. It is very easy to put on, thanks to the good elasticity of the silicone. You can either slide your iPod in through the bottom opening or through the screen opening. It’s just as easy either way.

Although the Silicone Wrapz case is a bit bulky, it’s ideal for active people, because it offers an excellent protection to shocks in the event your iPod falls down on concrete or other tough surfaces. In case it gets dirty, the case is very easy to clean with water and soap. Make sure you rinse it very well and you let it dry completely before putting it back on your iPod.

Luxe Frost Case For iPod Nano 5G

The 5G Nano is an elegant gadget and therefore it calls for a classy ipod nano case.

Luxe Frost is one of the cases that are cool and practical at the same time. It has a very nice finish, featuring a clear casing and a black bottom which match the actual design of the player. The two pieces fit together firmly, preventing the case slipping off the device.

The case comes with a screen protector included in the pack, which is a good idea because Luxe Frost leaves the iPod screen exposed to knocks and scratches. As the screen area can be easily scratched, it’s better to replace only the screen protection shield when needed, instead of buying a new case or even worse, a new iPod.

Putting this slide-on cover on your iPod Nano is very easy to do: just slide in the bottom part first, then the frosted upper part. The bottom of the case is very well formed, with the edge overlapping the device margina little, in such way that it doesn’t slide off, while permitting easy access to the connectors on the bottom of the iPod Nano 5G. Actually, the case features openings for easy access to all functions of the gadget such as the dock connection, headphones jack, camera and switches. The cover is slim, therefore it doesn’t make your iPod bulky.

Apple Anounces iPod Nano 4G – In 9 Colors!

Apple announced today at the “Lets’s Rock” event the Fourth Generation iPod Nano in a beautiful chromatic collection of 9 colors.

It features Apple’s new Genius technology. According to Steve Jobs it’s “the thinnest iPod [Apple has] ever made.” The iPod Nano 4G comes with a 16GB or 8GB storage capacity and 9 beautiful colors!

The 4G Nano has a two-inch display, set in a curved aluminum and glass enclosure. Apple say the new design makes the new iPod fit “even more comfortably in your hand”.

Inside the 4th Generation Nano are some very cool new features, it works seamlessly with iTunes, importing and syncing content, but also the new Genius feature included by Apple in the latest version of iTunes – Letting you automatically create playlists.

But the features we really love are:

  1. Shake-to-shuffle – Just shake it to mix up your playlist!
  2. The intelligent video aspect changer courtesy of the accelerometer! This means the Nano detects if you have turned it sideways and flips your video so it is in wide screen mode!!! Great work Apple!

The 4g Nano iPod 16GB model can hold up to 4,000 songs, 14,000 photos and 16 hours of video. The 8GB model holds 2,000 songs, 7,000 photos and 8 hours of video.

The 16GB nano costs $199 RRP, while the 8GB retails at $149. The device is available in a rainbow of colors!
